Description

ONS quality assures and maintains the National Cancer Registration Database for England (1971 to present), using cancer registration information submitted to ONS by the National Cancer Registration Service (NCRS) in Public Health England (PHE). ONS also quality assures cancer registration data for Wales, working in collaboration with the Welsh Cancer Intelligence and Surveillance Unit (WCISU) to do so.

ONS publish all National Statistics outputs on cancer incidence and survival for England, working in collaboration with the Cancer Research Cancer Survival Group (CR-CRG) at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) to produce the cancer survival publications.
